At this year's #IPIWoCo in #Sarajevo, @OSCE_RFoM & @OSCEBiH hosted a crucial side event on gendered #HateSpeech & #Disinformation. We presented practical tools to combat online violence against women journalists and explored strategies to empower them to work safely.

OSCE South East Europe Media Conference "At a crossroads: Safeguarding media freedom to protect democracy"
With the current situation in the world, we find ourselves at a crossroads. In order to ensure our common security and our democracies, we should actively choose the path to defending media freedom.
It is of utmost importance to have a proper legal framework in place that regulates #hatespeech while providing for reliable safeguards against illegitimate interference with the fundamental rights of #freedomofexpression and #mediafreedom, I said at the opening of our event today.

OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities starts today at 10:00 CET.
