The Jan Ivarsson Award was established by ESIST - European Association for Studies in Screen Translation to honor individuals who have made invaluable contributions to the field of audiovisual translation (AVT). First presented to subtitling guru Jan Ivarsson in 2010, the award recognizes achievements that have advanced AVT academically or professionally. Languages & The Media Conference has hosted the ceremony since its first edition.
