His untimely death has raised concerns among many who believe it might have been influenced by external forces beyond his control. Kianoosh Sanjari was a vocal critic of human rights violations in Iran and, like many dissidents, faced significant risks for his activism. He was also a victim and witness to the regime’s brutal strategy of institutionalizing political activists in Aminabad Psychiatric Hospital to silence them. His loss has left an indelible void in the fight for human rights, justice, and freedom in Iran. The international community has a duty to uncover the circumstances that led to his death. A transparent and thorough investigation would honor his legacy and demonstrate that nations committed to human rights stand with those who courageously risk their lives for freedom and justice. Kianoosh Sanjari is not the first victim of the regime’s crimes. Behnam Mahjoubi, another brave young civil rights activist, was also a witness and victim of the Islamic Republic’s psychiatric hospital abuses. He revealed the regime’s atrocities before dying under suspicious circumstances in prison. Currently, the Islamic Republic is engaged in simultaneous conflicts with both Iranians and Israelis. Their retaliatory attacks against Israel have reportedly been postponed until after the inauguration of the U.S. President, while they escalate oppression and pressure on Iranians. It seems the regime’s strategy is to first focus on crushing internal dissent during this transitional period in U.S. leadership, suppressing freedom fighters through fear, torture, and murder. Once they have silenced domestic opposition, they intend to expand their military aggression against Israel and the United States. The regime’s ideology labels Israel as the “Lesser Satan” and the United States as the “Greater Satan.” Such an investigation would not only seek to uncover the truth but also reaffirm the commitment of the United States and other human rights advocates to justice and freedom of expression globally. It is your responsibility to help Iranian freedom fighters, as the Islamic Republic has a horrifying plan for those who dare to resist. At the time of writing this letter, six young Iranian protesters—Navid Najaran, Hossein Nemati, Milad Armon, Amir Mohammad Khosh Eqbal, Amir Mohammad Zaman, Alireza Barmarz Pournak, and Alireza Kafaei—have been sentenced to death after being forced to confess under duress by regime agents and sham courts. The horrifying statistics of executions in the Islamic Republic reflect the regime’s blatant disregard for human rights. The number of executions has doubled in the past year. The regime has also imprisoned supporters of Prince Reza Pahlavi, the most trusted alternative for Iranians in their transition to democracy, with the harshest sentences. By assassinating Kianoosh Sanjari, one of Prince Reza Pahlavi’s key supporters, the regime has sent a threatening message to the Iranian people. We, the patriotic workers of Iran, feel it is our national and human duty to warn patriots across the world that the virus of the Islamic Republic will not remain confined to Iran. After completely suppressing domestic dissent, the regime will export its forces to other countries using various methods. Before this virus spreads globally, we urge you to support the fighters inside Iran and apply maximum pressure on the Islamic Republic to suppress this dangerous threat at its root.
