⚠️ How to look into Buffett's investment portfolio?⠀
💵 What is Soros investing in now? What stocks does Bill Gates prefer? Understanding the structure of key players' portfolios gives the average trader confidence and a trading edge. There is an official document that contains such information.
⠀
SEC requires large companies to regularly report on the composition of exchange-traded assets. Quarterly report 13F contains the results of the activities of companies and individuals who have invested more than $100,000 in insecurities. The information helps small investors to follow the trends of US stock market and create optimal investment portfolios for themselves. You just need to go to the official SEC website, in the Company Filings Search section, enter the name of the company or fund and select the current 13F-HR report.
⠀
You will find out: • which shares are in the company's assets;
• the specifics of assets (ordinary or preferred shares, options, etc.);
• the number of shares held;
• cost of securities at the end of the financial quarter.
⠀
But here, too, there are traps and pitfalls. • only information about purchases is available (no data on short positions);
• report does not show structural, political or other latent problems of the company;
• there is no guarantee that the 13F report was prepared correctly;
• release of this data is far behind the current market (45 days after the start of the new fiscal quarter);
• some companies are delaying the release of data to irritate competitors.
⠀
This information can only be used for mid-term analysis, but the ability to correctly «read» the 13F report will be useful to each of usion.

Profits to y’all!
