The warm welcome from the royal lineage welcoming the people of the Joseon kingdom emphasised the existence of peace and prosperity in life. They know him as the heart of a great empire. Taejo (태조) is a minor Mongolian official of Korean ethnicity. She joined the Goryeo army and gradually rose through the ranks before finally taking the throne in 1392. The Queen Sindeok (신덕왕후 강씨) was Empress Consort of Joseon from 1392 until she died in 1396 and was honoured as Queen Hyeon (현비). The Joseon dynasty was part of the ne-goong (내궁), meaning that Royal Consorts from ranks 1 to 4 were considered part of the royal family. Rank 1 royal concubine line-up: Bin (빈) and Gui-in (귀인). 2nd-degree royal concubines: So-ui (소의) and Sook-ui (숙의). 3rd-degree royal concubines: So-yeong (소용) and Sook-yeong (숙용). 4th-degree royal concubines: So-won (소원) and Sook-won (숙원). Along with court ladies, the Joseon royal dynasty was called gungnyeo. Gungnyeo is an abbreviation of gungjung yeogwan which means a female worker from the royal palace. The function of the gungnyeo is to serve the king and his family. Their tasks are divided according to their level.
