Tikhvin Church This is a wooden temple of the XVII century on the bank of the Tvertsa River. The first mention of the temple dates back to 1625, and in 1883 it was re-consecrated in honor of the Tikhvin icon of the Mother of God. The height of the temple reaches 34 meters, it is built of pine. Today it is a monument of federal significance, a
cultural heritage of Russia.
Novotorzhsky Borisoglebsky Monastery This is one of the oldest monasteries in Russia, founded in 1038 in honor of Saints Boris and Gleb. The architectural complex of the monastery includes buildings of the XVII-XIX centuries, including the famous cathedral and bell tower. In the XVIII century it was rebuilt by architect N.A. Lvov, adding light openings and acoustic features. The monastery is open for visits, and the bell tower offers a
panoramic view of the city.
