party of the dead + vegan georgia:
100,000,000,000 martyrsafter death, everyone is equal: people are equal to animals, and animals are equal to people. in order to remind people of this, the party of the dead together with
vegan georgia made the action “100,000,000,000 martyrs” in the format of a necro zoo demonstration, a small necro car rally and a mountain procession.
the action took place on the street of 100,000 martyrs (ასი ათასი მოწამე) in tbilisi, which leads to the cemetery of mukhatgverdi (in soviet times, they even built a crematorium there – which, however, did not work for a day). on the street of 100,000 martyrs there is also a meat factory shvidi meat – and this coincidence seemed striking to us: for here they are,
the real martyrs, and there are many more of them than 100,000.
100,000,000,000 – this is the approximate number of people who have lived throughout the history of mankind.
100,000,000,000 – this is the approximate order of the number of animals killed by modern mankind every year – mainly for food, as part of industrial livestock farming.
these animals die mostly painful deaths and are kept in “inhumane” conditions.
the word “martyr” in many european languages comes from the greek μάρτυς, “witness.” could animal martyrs bear witness to their own pain and death?
conscientious people resent the mass murders – while putting on stream the annual killing of tens of billions of other creatures.
good-natured people resent the inhumanity of concentration camps – while condemning tens of billions of other creatures every year to life in concentration camp conditions (or even worse).
decent people resent the rape – while subjecting billions of other creatures to reproductive violence every year.
can anything change decisively in the human world without eliminating this colossal, “mathematically sublime” death factory?
the action uses skull masks of the animals that people kill the most: chickens, turkeys, pigs, sheep, goats, cows (for example, the un food and agriculture organization
calculated that in 2022, over 82 billion land animals were killed, including over 75 billion chickens, over 510 million turkeys, about 1.5 billion pigs, about 640 million sheep, over 500 million goats, about 310 million cows... and there are also ducks, rabbits, geese... aquatic animals were not included in these calculations at all: fish and crustaceans are counted in tons, not individuals. since then, the number of creatures killed annually has hardly decreased).
go vegan, respect the martyrs
