🌀 The #HurricaneRafael has intensified into a Category 1, with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph (130 km/h). The storm is located approximately 60 miles (95 kilometers) northeast of Little Cayman in the Cayman Islands and is moving northwest at 13 mph (20 km/h).
⚠️ Rafael is projected to land in western Cuba today (November 6) and could potentially strengthen into a Category 2 hurricane upon arrival.
🇨🇺 The
@NHC_Atlantic has issued hurricane warnings for the Cayman Islands and several Cuban provinces, including Pinar del Río, Artemisa, La Habana, Mayabeque, Matanzas, and the Isle of Youth.
⚠️ Tropical storm warnings are in effect for additional Cuban provinces and parts of the Florida Keys.
