Gene editing of NCF1 loci is associated with homologous recombination and chromosomal rearrangements

but is inherently associated with the introduction of chromosomal aberrations in a fraction of the edited cells. Importantly, our presented data provided valuable insights on genome editing involving multiple on-targets on the same chromosome, such as the HBB/HBD and CCR2/CCR5 loci58,59, in which DSB-independent editing systems may be advantageous in terms of safety for future clinical application of pseudogene-associated disorders."
