The former indeed took over labor like carrying loads or transporting, but it provided many more jobs in electrical or engineering sectors. The same happened with the latter: people were worried that with the invention of calculator, mathematicians would be out of their jobs, yet it actually aided them prioritize new fields over mundane calculations.
