Some people think that a job provides not only an income but also a social life. Other people think that it is better to develop a social life with people you do not work with. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. People have differing views regarding the people we socialize with: while some argue we should spend time with our colleagues, others propose our social life should transcend the workplace. Although both approaches seem promising, I think people should try to bond with those outside their jobs. On the one hand, there are justified benefits of social life in the workplace for both employees and employers. For workers, forming strong relationships with co-workers can boost job satisfaction. It does so because we humans are social creatures, meaning that the more close we become to surrounding people, the happier we become. Investing time in this pursuit would therefore help us grow more connected to our colleagues and stay happy. As for corporate benefits, companies can improve work productivity if employees were to spend more time together. Granted, social connections within a workplace can increase workflow between different departments and reduce the number of potential conflicts. This, in turn, can lead the companies and corporations to progress faster than they otherwise would. On the other hand, social life outside the work proves even more justified. Firstly, this can assist people to accomplish more in their professional careers. That is, communication with people from various backgrounds can make them grow more well-rounded. For instance, a person who talks to engineers, doctors, and lawyers is far more advanced in problem-solving and critical thinking than a person who talks to only lawyers or only doctors. Such qualities can also help with career advancement since they will be more aware of the opportunities around them. Secondly, general life satisfaction will improve should a person socialize with different people. The main reason behind view is that communicating with people forces us to develop soft skills or interpersonal skills that are necessary in daily life. Having such qualities will surely strengthen our relationships with not only our co-workers but also our family, friends, and close relatives, which is way more crucial than just job satisfaction. Due to these two reasons, I believe that we should converse with people outside our jobs. To conclude, some claim the importance of socializing with co-workers as it can better job satisfaction and productivity. However, I side with those who separate social and work life, highlighting broader merits such as career growth and overall life satisfaction. #EssayOnSocialLife
