The teaser consists of a short video showing a "digital mountain panorama" and "a synth-heavy music explosion". It was then announced that the group would be releasing their second EP entitled GIRLS on July 8th, today to be exact. The upcoming release will be the group's first album following the release of their October 2021 EP, Savage. Previously, pre-orders for Girls surpassed one million copies, a week after the announcement, surpassing Aespa's previous career high of 401,000 pre-orders for Savage.
