The Universal Declaration of
Human Rights - UDHR - envisioned a world where every man, woman and child would live in dignity, and be protected from violence etc.
But our experiences as Kurds, and the acts of killings and genocides perpetrated against people in many parts of the world, demonstrate that
human rights do not mean the same thing whether you are a French citizen or Danish, or a Kurdish or Arab citizen.
For example, if in an act of violence committed in France, where ten individuals lose their lives, many countries would denounce it firmly and be ready to intervene. But in other areas, such as Shingal in Iraq, Yemen and Afrin in Syria, it was found that the same countries remained silent and did nothing to help.
In this case, the
human rights of a French or Danish citizen are very different from those of a Kurdish or Arab citizen! The great powers will intervene, provided that this protection goes in the direction of their interests. Otherwise, there is no other justification, so that before the eyes of the world, killings, looting, and violence are produced in the city of Afrin, and that these same countries, remain silent! We know that the UDHR was born of the atrocities committed during the Second World War with its lot of pain and shame. But today, we must rest the question:
• Are they really UNIVERSAL
human rights?
