Global validation campaigns boost science!
An extensive network of scientists will validate
EarthCARE data, by assessing them in comparison to reference data that will be collected from other satellites, planes, ships, and ground-based sensors.
Several large, international validation campaigns include flights under
EarthCARE’s orbit to achieve this goal.
In fact, the first of these has begun already. Last week, a team from
@latmos_ipsl flew a test flight from Tolouse to Tarbes in preparation for the upcoming ORCESTRA campaigns that will set boats, planes and balloons across the tropical Atlantic from Cape Verde to Barbados.
We're teaming up with
@NASAEarth's PACE satellite calibration and validation campaign, too!
Loads of important science will be done.
Whilst improving the data
EarthCARE sends us from above, ORCESTRA will advance understanding of tropical meteorology and atmospheric processes.
