Here the famous Great Blue Hole can be seen.
The Great Blue Hole is an underwater sinkhole, measuring over 300 m in diameter and about 123 m deep.

This @CopernicusEU #Sentinel2 image from 9 September 2024 shows wildfires along the Xingu River, in the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil.

The infrared signal acquired by the mission’s multispectral instrument allows the extent of the burned areas to be seen and highlights where the fires were still active on the date of acquisition.

So far so good! 😎

@esaoperations has been taking good care of the recently launched @CopernicusEU #Sentinel2-C satellite.

The satellite will now spend the next three months being prepared to begin the routine acquisition of high-resolution images of Earth’s land surfaces, islands, inland and coastal waters from an altitude of around 790 km.

Sentinel-2C's life in orbit is off to a smooth start! Thanks to a perfect launch and problem-free first few days in space, ESA mission control was able to wrap up the mission's critical 'Launch and Early Orbit Phase' earlier than planned. 🕹️🛰️
