#house can function in similar ways: as a protective shelter for one's embodied vulnerability, but also as a security perimeter that one may feel compelled to defend, even in the absence of clear threat. Walls and fences creat boundaries between inside and outside that echo the boundary of one's skin and harden it into a property line. How far can this perimeter be extended without losing its connection to the feeling of bodily vulnerability?
