January 6th—a great day to reintroduce this bill 👇
As we have witnessed in recent years, political bias has run rampant in federal criminal trials. That is why I introduced the VENUE Act alongside @RepTroyNehls which will allow defendants to move their trial to their home residence area for federal crimes committed in Washington, DC.
Americans deserve the opportunity for a fair trial and should have no fear of an overtly partisan jury.
Why is the CBP, the agency responsible for securing the border, 2,000 MILES away from the border?
A: No good reason!
Today, I have introduced a bill to move the CBP Headquarters from DC to Texas. Doing so will be cost-effective and critical to bringing President Trump’s fight to the border.
"The simple truth is: No matter how hard you work, no matter how strong this economy grows, no matter how much more tax money comes to Washington, it won't amount to a hill of beans if government won't curb its endless appetite to spend.”
My sole focus was advancing the Trump agenda. To ensure this, I expressed concerns to Speaker Johnson about fiscal responsibility and holding the line on deficit spending—key priorities for my constituents.
After receiving firm assurances from the Speaker, that Republicans in the House will have strong representation during the budget reconciliation process—a cornerstone of President Trump’s agenda—I changed my initial vote.
I appreciate Speaker Johnson addressing these critical issues.
