🎥 “They put a missile in every kitchen, a rocket in every garage.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hezbollah of storing missiles in schools, hospitals, apartment buildings and houses across Lebanon during his speech at the UN General Assembly on Friday.

Netanyahu did not provide evidence to support these claims.

#BREAKING: Hezbollah officially announces the death of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Lebanese group confirmed that its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed yesterday by an Israeli strike calling him a "martyr on the path to Jerusalem and Palestine."

"His Eminence, the Leader of Resistance, the righteous servant, has departed to be with his Lord and His pleasure, a great martyr, a courageous and wise leader, joining the ranks of the luminous martyrs of Karbala in the divine and faith-filled journey, following the path of the prophets and the martyred imams," said Hezbollah.

📰 Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei spoke this morning, saying: “The Zionist entity is too small to deal a significant blow to Hezbollah’s strong structure.”

Khamenei stressed that “the fate of the region is determined by the resistance forces, led by Hezbollah”, and criticised Israel’s leadership, stating: “The terrorist gang ruling the Zionist entity has not learnt a lesson from its criminal war in Gaza.”

Expressing solidarity with Hezbollah, Khamenei said: “All resistance forces in the region stand by Hezbollah.”

“It's the duty of Muslims to stand with the Lebanese people and Hezbollah to confront the malicious Zionist entity,” he further added.

Khamenei also condemned the killing of civilians in Lebanon, describing it as proof of “the ferocity of the Zionist entity and the shortsightedness and stupidity of its leaders”.

🎥 This is the moment Israeli fighter jets bombed residential buildings in Beirut’s southern suburbs, an area colloquially known as Dahiyeh, on Friday, using approximately 10 bunker-busting bombs.

The Israeli army claimed it killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and several other commanders during its strikes on Beirut's southern suburbs.

Hezbollah has yet to confirm any casualties from Israel's latest attacks.

📰 According to MTV Lebanon, Israel hacked into the control tower system at Beirut’s airport and issued a warning to an Iranian passenger plane, instructing it not to land.

Following the warning, Lebanese authorities reportedly blocked the aircraft from entering the country’s airspace.

The National News Agency reported that public works minister Ali Hamieh directed the airport to inform the Iranian plane not to approach or land in Lebanon.

Israel said its warplanes are patrolling the area near Beirut’s airport to ensure it is used only for “civilian purposes”, hinting at a potential threat to target the airport.

Israeli forces previously bombed Beirut airport in 2006.

🎥 Smoke continues to billow across suburbs of Beirut after Israeli forces launched a deadly onslaught in residential areas overnight.

At least 10 explosions rocked the capital's southern suburbs, a densely-populated area colloquially known as Dahiyeh.

The Israeli army claimed it targeted Hezbollah headquarters, which were allegedly located under residential buildings, and Israeli media claimed that the group's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was the target of the attack.

Videos and photos published by Lebanese social media users showed ambulances and rescue crews rushing to the scene of the strikes to find several fires that erupted throughout the blast site.

An enormous crater could also be seen near one of the buildings that had been struck.

📹 Diplomats walked out in large numbers on Friday in protest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly amidst Israel’s escalation of attacks on Lebanon and its ongoing war on Gaza.

In his speech, Netanyahu called the UN a “contemptuous farce” with an “antisemitic swamp” in need of “draining” in his criticism of the UN’s treatment of Israel.

Israel’s attacks on Lebanon have killed over 700 people the past week, including scores of women and children, in addition to more than 42,000 people killed in Gaza.

📹 The Israeli army issued evacuation orders of southern Beirut forcing the displacement of the residents in those areas following an earlier Israeli attack on several residential buildings on friday that had killed at least 6 and wounded 91.

In a post on X, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said that people residing in the Hadath and Laylaki neighbourhoods in Beirut must evacuate immediately and stay away at a distance of “no less than 500 metres.”

📰 Scores of diplomats walked out of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday, in protest against the devastating war on Gaza and the latest attacks on Lebanon.

Several diplomats could be seen walking out in haste as Netanyahu entered the great hall to speak from the rostrum, with the presiding diplomat having to shout “order, please” as the Israeli leader took to the stage.

The war on Gaza, now approaching its one-year mark, has turned much of the enclave into an uninhabitable hellscape.

More than 42,000 people have been killed, almost the entire population are reported to have fled their homes at least once, and those in northern Gaza are on the verge of famine.

🎥 Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari said the attack on several residential buildings in Beirut’s densely-packed Haret Hreik in the Dahiyeh district which was hit by more than 10 missiles was a “precise strike” by the Israeli army. He claimed a “Hezbollah central headquarter” was built under the residential buildings.

At least two people were killed and 76 wounded in the attack which flattened 4 residential buildings, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

#BREAKING: Several reports state that Israel launched a new strike on Beirut's densely populated southern suburbs, colloquially known as Dahiyeh.

Israel's military said that in the coming hours, it will launch additional air strikes in southern Beirut.

Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said Israel's earlier strike on Beirut was "very precise", and added that Israel wouldn't allow Beirut's civilian airport to be used for military purposes, hinting that the airport could become a target of Israeli bombs.

So far, at least six people havebeen killed and 91 have been wounded in Israel's large-scale bombing of southern Beirut, according to the latest death toll released by Lebanon's health ministry.

🎥 Hundreds of protesters gathered a few blocks from the United Nations headquarters in New York on Thursday in support of Palestine and Lebanon.

Israel rejected a push by allies for a 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon and vowed to keep fighting Hezbollah militants "until victory", ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to the UN General Assembly on Friday.

🎥 "The bombing was painful; we had to take the kids and leave."

Displaced Lebanese citizens speak to MEE’s Nader Durgham in Dhour el-Choueir, in Mount Lebanon. Efforts are ongoing to provide shelter and meet the needs of people displaced from areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, which have been under Israeli bombardment since 23 September.

More than 90,000 people have been reported as newly displaced in Lebanon this week, according to the UN International Organisation for Migration. Israeli bombardment has killed over 700 people across parts of Lebanon since Monday.

Martinez has raised the Palestinian flag at previous concerts and expressed her support for the Palestinian cause on her personal social media platforms. She was also one of the many artists who signed an open letter to US President Biden demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.

🎥 A pro-Palestine protester confronted French President Emmanuel Macron in Montreal, Canada, on Thursday, telling him that his recent calls at the UN for an end to Israel’s war on Gaza were “insufficient” and “came too late”.

📰 Israel’s defence minister posted a photo on X of him along with several members of the top brass of Israel’s air force, with a caption saying: “Continue to hit Hezbollah, everywhere, at any time, until the residents of the north return home safely”.

The photo was posted shortly after the massive Israeli air strike on southern Beirut, which Israel’s military said targeted Hezbollah’s command centre — MEE couldn’t independently verify this claim.

Israeli reports stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently in New York for the UN General Assembly, heard the news of the strike and “immediately left” for his hotel to receive more information about the strike.
