🎥 Massive crater left at the site where Israeli fighter jets bombed residential buildings in Beirut’s southern suburbs, known as Dahiyeh, on Friday, using approximately 10 bunker-busting bombs.

The Israeli army claimed it killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and several other commanders during these strikes.

🎥 Pro-Palestine demonstrations were held in Spain’s capital, Madrid, as well as other major cities such as Barcelona and Bilbao, as part of a nationwide strike.

More than 200 trade unions and non-governmental organisations initiated a 24-hour general strike on Friday titled "Against the genocide and occupation in Palestine".

The unions organised various protests throughout the day, including demonstrations at factories producing military equipment and outside the foreign ministry headquarters in Madrid.

They called on the Spanish government to “immediately cut diplomatic, commercial and military relations with Israel" to prevent its participation in "Israel's ethnic cleansing"

Israel's assassination of Hassan Nasrallah has dealt Hezbollah a painful blow, but due to its decentralised structure and doctrine, it still has the capabilities to rebuild itself, a source close to the party has told Middle East Eye.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the string of Israeli assassinations that targeted Hezbollah's leadership and top commanders over the past few weeks, and the logistical strikes on its secure communication network, had significantly weakened the party's military and security.

However, he added, one of Hezbollah's strengths was its decentralised structure, which, despite the heavy weight that its top commanders carried, is not linked to only one leader.

"Hezbollah's hierarchy still exists, the institution exists, and the various leaderships in the different regions of Lebanon still exist. Therefore, it can rebuild itself from the party's steadfast human and military infrastructure," the source told MEE

📰 Pope Francis criticised Israeli attacks in Lebanon that go "beyond morality" on Sunday. His comments came in response to questions about Israeli air strikes that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, along with civilians.

On his flight back to Rome from Belgium, the pope said countries must not go "over the top" in using military force.

"Even in war, there is a morality to safeguard," he said. "War is immoral. But the rules of war give it some morality."

Israeli attacks may have forced up to 1 million people to flee parts of Lebanon, potentially triggering the worst displacement crisis in the country's history, Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Sunday.

"The estimated number is very high and may reach 1 million," Mikati explained, noting that this would account for roughly one-sixth of Lebanon's population. "It is the largest displacement movement that may have happened in Lebanon."

When asked about efforts to de-escalate the situation, Mikati said Lebanon had "no option but the diplomatic option".
