Talked about the Wolfram Physics Project to the chief of the Taiwanese Mormon church The people on Taiwan are very hospitable. Yesterday, I went up a mountain, asked a question to some people on it, they invited me to have lunch with them (fig. 4) Today…
Late February, I was in Taiwan for the Asian Spring Program on Rationality, and it was a very profound experience I don't know why, but it felt like the inner experience was somewhat altered, and the usual life seemed very far away for those 10 days. In short, it can be described as a program designed to immerse you into a very close-knit community of people interested in thinking about the world and to increase your level of agency and introspection There are some rationality-related classes, but really it's more of a mix of a math camp, a buddhist retreat, group therapy, a cult, a conference, and a philosophical think tank To me, the vibe was like this: "We are all capable of and going to work on great things. However, none of that matters now, that's from a distant world. Now, we are all sitting around a fire in a random Taiwanese forest and humming" If you're 21 or younger, I highly recommend applying by May 26th to their camps: fabric.camp P.S. we also obtained some hydrogen, drank some tea, tried to send a ball really high up, and there was a lot of sheep. It was nice.
