Subject: Urgent Call for Support and Solidarity with Nationwide Protests and Strikes in Iran
Dear [Name of Embassy / Honorable Ambassador],
In Iran, the very country where you live and work:
• In November 2019, thousands of Iranians protested rising prices and economic hardship and were killed. What did you do?
• In September and October 2022, young people were killed fighting for social freedoms and the right to choose their attire. What did you do?
• Since then, 994 schools have been attacked with chemical agents. What did you do?
• Every five hours, an execution takes place. What did you do?
• There are documented reports of sexual assault against underage protesters. What did you do?
• Families who have lost loved ones in the fight for freedom are being arrested. What did you do?
• Every day, new arrests are reported. Will we remain silent? Innocent people are awaiting execution. Will you remain silent again?
Today, we must act. You must act. We, the patriotic Iranian labor, express our deep concern about the systematic and ongoing violations of human rights and the severe repression of critics, civil protesters, and political prisoners by the Islamic Republic of Iran. As you know, people across Iran have taken to the streets demanding fundamental freedoms, justice, and an end to decades of systemic oppression. Tragically, these peaceful protests have been met with violent crackdowns, arbitrary arrests, and unjust executions.
As a representative of a country committed to human rights and democratic principles, your embassy plays a vital role in defending these universal values. These crimes are happening in front of your eyes in Tehran, in Iran. We urge you to join peaceful protests and stage a sit-in in front of the Islamic Republic’s Human Rights Headquarters in Tehran to demonstrate solidarity with the freedom-seeking people of Iran and to raise awareness about state killings. Young Iranians, such as the youths of Ekbatan unjustly sentenced to death, are still alive. Today, we must act.
We also request your support in the following areas of human rights in Iran:
1. Public Presence: Encourage embassy representatives to join protests against state killings, particularly in support of
#EkbatanYouth, and stand with those demonstrating against execution orders. This act can amplify the voices of those risking their lives for freedom and justice.
2. Condemnation of Human Rights Violations: Issue public statements condemning the systemic human rights abuses in Iran’s judicial system and call for accountability from the Islamic Republic.
3. Pursue Action in International Forums: Collaborate with international human rights organizations and advocate in multilateral forums such as the United Nations to demand an immediate end to violence and the release of political and ideological prisoners.
4. Support for Civil Society: Provide direct support to Iranian civil society and exiled activists to empower their efforts in promoting democracy and justice.
The people of Iran have stood with unparalleled courage in the face of immense hardship. They are fighting not only for their own freedom but for values that the global community also upholds. By supporting them, your embassy can send a resolute message to the Islamic Republic that human rights violations in Iran will not be tolerated.
At the time of this letter’s writing, patriotic Iranians abroad, following the call of the National Revolution’s leader, have been staging sit-ins and strikes in Bonn, Germany, now in their 18th day. We, the patriotic workers of Iran, call on free media to turn their cameras away from certain duplicitous politicians and focus on these peaceful patriots to illuminate the path to freedom and peace more clearly.
In these critical times, silence is not an honorable option. We urge you to act decisively—history will not forget those who stood with justice and freedom.
Thank you for your attention and commitment to human rights
