The Caga Tió The Caga Tió is a Catalonian Yuletide tradition in Spain. Caga Tió means Uncle "Shit" or "Shitting Log" and is a rather unique descendent of the Yule Log of Northern European traditions. The tradition involves hitting the log with sticks and singing a song about giving them candy. The Log is covered with a blanket and fed scraps of food, then after the hitting and singing the log than "poops" candy especially turrón, a kind of nougat. While there are origin stories of Uncle Shit, the log has never really settled on one and the Catalans treasure the tradition enough to not really ask questions about a log that poops candy and brings good luck after you viciously beat it with sticks.-TLK
