What do seitan and new year have in common If you love seitan, you probably know that it's a Japanese word and it, like any word, has an etymology. One theory is that セイタン comes from the phrase 正しいタンパク質, which literally means "proper protein." (Japanese hints at how to eat right). This phrase sounds like TADASHII TANPAKU Shitsu. Also, one reading of the character 正 is SEI. We take what is emphasized, add it up, and we get SEITAN. But the hieroglyph 正, which means "right", "faithful", "fair" is used in other words, one of which (if you still remember the title, you can guess) is New Year 正月 - SHOUGATSU is the "right month", or New Year ☃️ Now you know which product is the most appropriate for the New Year (and beyond) 😊
