Vladimir: To be honest, I’ve had my fair share of reservations about working on Saturdays. It’s been a while—no, it’s been forever—since I worked on a Saturday, as I’ve always tried to carve it out as my day off. But my new writing course has changed everything. Since all my students are teachers, and they’re just as busy as I am during the week, I decided to give it a go and sacrifice my weekends.
All my doubts disappeared the moment my new (and some returning) students joined the conference, ready to conquer the world. Their enthusiasm and eager spirit to learn gave me strength and woke me up better than my morning coffee. In just under two hours, we scrutinized (I’ve always wanted to use that word!) the communicative purposes of an essay, explored the intricacies of the conventions, and even mastered techniques for writing snappy introductions.
I never thought I’d say this, but now I’m genuinely looking forward to our next session!
