جین عزیز
مدت هاست که میخواستم برایت نامه ای بنویسم و از احوالم بگویم اما کلمات همانند قطرات آب از دستانم میگریزند.
بارها درباره‌ی ماجراجویی‌هایی که ذهنم را تمام زندگی ام مشغول کرده بودند برایت نوشتم. ماجراجویی هایی که وسوسه تجربه‌شان مرا به این شهر آورد، اما حال که آنهارا تجربه کردم در زندگی ام جز شکست و ناامیدی دیگر چیزی به چشم نمی‌خورد. شکست خورده و سرشار از یأس و گمراهی‌ام‌.
حس میکنم این شهر عاقبت آن معصومیتی که همیشه به آن میبالیدم را از من دزدیده و هیچوقت به من برنمیگرداند.
احساس میکنم هدر میروم. فریب خورده و سرگردانم. حتی نمیدانم با خود چه کرده ام. به دنبال خودم در دریای ناکامی‌هایم به این سمت و آن سمت شنا میکنم. نمیدانم چه میشوم فقط امیدوارم این بار، آن نوری که در دوردست ها میبینم سرابی توخالی نباشد.

تو دانشگاه یه مسیری هست که به تریای کنار دانشکده ختم میشه. یه مسیر پر درخت و سرسبز هست که هر وقت از سرکار برمی‌گردم برای رفتن به خوابگاه باید ازونجا رد بشم.
بعضی شبا حدودای ساعت نه که دارم از سرکار برمی‌گردم، هیچ کس اونجا نیست. درختان تا آسمون کشیده شدن و بالا تر از همشون ماه اونجا وایستاده.
و برای سه دقیقه، فقط سه دقیقه که آهنگ Young and beautiful از گوشی های هندزفریم پخش میشه و باد خنک صورتمو نوازش می‌کنه، صاحب تمام کلمات دنیا میشم.
حس میکنم میتونم زیباترین شعر ها و داستان هارو بنویسم. میتونم بهترین کتاب ها رو بخونم و درباره همه چیز، صفحه ها بنویسم. اون لحظه تو کلمات غرق میشم و هیچ درکی از فضا و زمان ندارم. نه گذشته ای هست نه حال و نه آینده ای. با غم هام و شادی هام یکی میشم و دیگه شخصیت فرعی داستان زندگی خودم نیستم. فقط و فقط خودم و حس می کنم. توی اون لحظه نه خودمو دوست دارم، نه از خودم متنفرم. توی اون لحظه فقط و فقط «منم» که وجود دارم.
