Big Sky Active Club members coordinated food drives across the state this month. Over $170 worth of food was purchased and dropped off to food pantries in small rural towns in Sweet Grass and Powell counties. We love Montana and the White folks who live here, many of whom go without far too often this time of year.
Big Sky AC members attended an Oktoberfest celebration in NW Montana recently. They enjoyed the traditional German cuisine, polka music, beer, and the company of other White people who were there to do the same in the beautiful early October sunshine.
Big Sky AC members recently completed a hike to the top of Squaw Peak near Missoula, the third peak the club has been to this year.
The hike included navigating a large rockslide and a hike through humid, dense PNW evergreen forest. Members encountered a couple of mountain grouse on the trail and were able to get quite close to the animals without scaring them.

Big Sky AC members recently summitted Stormcastle Peak in the Bozeman area. Gaining over 2,000 vertical feet in just over 2.5 miles, they enjoyed breathtaking views and strengthened the bonds that hold our mannerbund together. Afterwards they ate a meal and discussed plans to conquer another peak soon.
