The more than two year long "climate justice disgrace" in Augsburg has come to an end: Climate activist Samuel Bosch of the Alti forest occupation was arrested today at the Ravensburg train station. At least six Ravensburg police officers prevented Samuel from boarding the train by order of Juvenile Court Judge Schmid of the Augsburg District Court. He was on his way to another court date in Augsburg. 11 days ago, Judge Schmid had issued a questionable arrest warrant against Bosch, despite his having been excused by a doctor's note in time. With the public (and the press) excluded, the Augsburg District Court then dropped the case unconditionally and at state expense. In the spring, the German Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht) overturned an earlier Augsburg prison sentence against Bosch as incompatible with the German constitution and ordered a full retrial.
