Little known, but 19th of September is a bloody date in the Latvian history. It's a day, nearly 80 years ago, when several dozen lives of latvian boys were extinguished.
On 19th of september, this year, Active Club Latvia members gathered at the monument of Air Force auxiliaries (Luftwaffenhelfer), to commemorate those 47 latvian boys, which, torn from their night's sleep, perished during a Soviet aviation raid on 19th of September, 1944
As part of the commemorative event, the monument was illuminated by torches, decorated with flowers and candles.
Club members were given a history lecture about this tragic event, which was also listened to by passers-by with great interest.
Nothing is forgotten! Nothing is forgiven!
