‎۳/۳ ‎I am writing to formally lodge a protest against the deeply disrespectful and offensive remarks made by one of your reporters. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of fact-based journalism and amounts to an unwarranted character assassination of Her Majesty Shahbanu Farah Pahlavi, the esteemed Queen of Iran in exile. Her Majesty is held in the highest regard by millions of Iranians for her significant contributions to healthcare, women's rights, children's rights, arts, culture, architecture, and charitable causes, both during her time in Iran and in exile. ‎It is with profound disappointment that I draw your attention to the fact that this reporter has, in a shameless and disgraceful manner, equated the name of Her Majesty Shahbanu Pahlavi with that of Asma al-Assad, the wife of Bashar al-Assad. The latter is widely recognised as complicit in the atrocities committed by one of the most brutal and oppressive regimes of the modern era. Asma al-Assad’s association with widespread bloodshed and human rights violations in Syria, including the suppression of innocent individuals striving for their fundamental rights and freedoms, makes such a comparison both baseless and deeply offensive. ‎This erroneous and malicious comparison is an outright insult to Her Majesty Shahbanu Pahlavi and a grave affront to the millions of Iranians who revere her legacy. Moreover, it reflects a shocking disregard for the suffering endured by the Syrian people under the Assad regime, whose actions have led to untold devastation and loss of life. ‎Such conduct violates the principles of fairness, respect, and human dignity that any responsible media organisation is expected to uphold. I strongly urge BBC Persian to take immediate and decisive action by removing this individual from your platform. Their actions are entirely inconsistent with the values of impartiality, professionalism, and respect that the BBC should embody. ‎By allowing the dissemination of such baseless and offensive commentary, BBC Persian, and by extension the BBC, risks reducing itself to the level of sensationalist propaganda and entertainment tabloids rather than maintaining its reputation as a serious and credible news organisation. ‎Furthermore, I demand that the management of BBC Persian issue a formal and public apology to the millions of Iranians, including myself, who have been deeply hurt and offended by these outrageous remarks. This apology must convey genuine remorse for the harm caused and the gross disrespect shown to a revered figure in Iranian history. ‎I trust that you will address this matter with the seriousness it warrants and take swift action to restore confidence in the integrity of your organisation. ‎Yours faithfully, ‎[Your Name]
