This photo was taken a year ago during Hanukkah 2023. Hadas Bachar and Alma Or from Be’eri lit the first candle together. Hadas’ mother and brother, were tragically murdered on October 7. Her father was severely injured. Alma, 13 years old, was kidnapped by Hamas from her home along with her brother Noam, her father Dror, and her cousin Liam. Alma’s mother was murdered. While Alma, Noam, and Liam were released as part of a hostage deal, the body of her father, Dror still remains in Gaza.
