My God, this movie was much better than I expected. Nosferatu looks absolutely incredible—the snow-swept streets, the horse-drawn carriages, and the evil dark castle on the mountainside are all beautifully evocative of what you think about when you read classic vampire stories.
Everything from the costume design to the production is so immersive in this time period. The themes and aesthetics are so perfectly aligned that you feel like you are a part of their world.
Any version of Nosferatu lives or dies depending on the actors playing Orlok and Anna Hutter. As soon as I heard that Bill Skarsgård and Lily-Rose Depp were cast in those roles, I knew it was going to be a hit, especially with Robert Eggers at the helm.
What makes this movie so interesting is Robert Eggers himself. He is undoubtedly one of the most talented, capable, and visually gifted directors out there. The fact that he was able to bring together an excellent cast, create an intense atmosphere, and deliver gorgeous cinematography speaks volumes. General audiences, please don’t let this movie flop!
