To purchase anonymous numbers, usernames, or Telegram Stars, users must complete verification through the Sumsub service. Notably, this is the same service used for Wallet verification. The introduction of KYC might be related to entering the U.S. market or the upcoming conversion of limited-edition gifts into NFTs and the creation of a secondary market on Fragment. Before launching gift sales on a global scale, Telegram must ensure compliance with anti-money laundering measures. Interestingly, the sale of anonymous numbers is still available without requiring KYC.
