TIL Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem is known as Kotelnikov theorem in Russian. Russian Wikipedia claims that Kotelnikov originally wrote down proved this theorem, while Shannon independently proved it sixteen years later. More than that, Meijering, according to English Wikipedia, lists five people as authors, neither of them being Nyquist (Kotelnikov, Raabe, Shannon, Someya, Whittaker) and suggests referring to it as "the sampling theorem" instead. #math
