For nearly 100 days, what has been unfolding in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory is a war conducted with almost no regard for the impact on civilians.

At the #UNSC today, I renewed my call for urgent action to bring this war to an end.

"In the dead of night, I find myself on the street, running with my family. We are scared and tired."

For nearly 100 days, Hala, a displaced aid worker in Gaza, has been trying to do her job and keep her family safe.

Please read her diary.

Such devastating news. We mourn the loss of these brave colleagues.

The rules of war are clear: Parties must protect civilians, including humanitarian workers.

These rules must be upheld.

The fighting must end.
The health sector in Gaza is being slowly choked off as hospitals continue to come under fire.
War has become the preferred instrument to resolve differences.

May 2024 be the year peace, dialogue and humanity become our beacon.
Three months since the horrific 7 October attacks, Gaza has become a place of death and despair.

This war should never have started. But it’s long past time for it to end.

Nearly 9 months of war have tipped #Sudan into a downward spiral that only grows more ruinous by the day.

2024 demands that the international community – particularly those with influence on parties to the conflict – take action now.

I strongly condemn an incident yesterday in which an aid convoy was fired upon while traveling from northern Gaza to Rafah.

The convoy was clearly marked and its movements were coordinated with the parties.

Attacks on humanitarian workers are unlawful. The conflict must stop.
You think getting aid into Gaza is easy? Think again.
Hospitals are barely functioning.

Infectious diseases are rife and spreading fast in overcrowded shelters.

Hundreds of people with war injuries are unable to receive care.

Gaza is a public health disaster in the making.
This announcement about the risk of famine in Gaza is sobering but not surprising.

We have been warning for weeks that, with such deprivation and destruction, each day that goes by will only bring more hunger, disease and despair to the people of Gaza.

The war must end.
