Olowookere Optimistic About Flamingos’ Performance in Dominican RepublicBankole Olowookere, head coach of Nigeria’s U17 women’s football team, the Flamingos, is confident in the team’s prospects for the upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
Arriving in Santo Domingo on Thursday, the team began training immediately to acclimatize. Olowookere noted that all players are well-prepared and will engage in warm-up matches before the tournament starts. He expressed hopes of surpassing their previous performance, urging Nigerians to support the team with prayers.
The Flamingos are drawn in Group A with the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and New Zealand and aim to build on their bronze medal success from the last tournament in 2022. The championship runs until November 3.
