Did you know...? In November 2023, a female Weddell seal with light blue tags numbered 0550 broke the record number of pups for the species. At 33 years old, 0550 gave birth to her 24th pup. She also tied the record for oldest known Weddell seal. 🥇🦭

-Monitor moisture in the top 5 cm of soil
-Refine weather forecasts, drought predictions & climate models
-Supplement soil moisture data from NASA’s AMSR-E mission

The sea ice minimum marks the day, each year, when the sea ice extent is at its lowest. The Arctic sea ice minimum occurs at the end of the summer melting season in the Northern Hemisphere, typically in September. Learn more: bit.ly/47j6Sjr
