The Super Eagles are preparing to leave Libya after facing over 14 hours of mistreatment. The news was confirmed by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chair of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, on her X account, stating, “Super Eagles team now boarding.”
Player Bruno Onyemaechi also confirmed their departure, expressing relief: “Thank God I’m going back.” The team had been stranded when Libyan authorities allegedly denied permission for their flight to refuel.

Super Eagles interim manager, Austin Eguavoen has warned winger Samuel Chukwueze that he should know where not to dribble ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier against Libya.
Speaking ahead of Nigeria’s AFCON qualifier with Libya on Friday, Eguavoen specifically addressed Chukwueze as he urged the AC Milan star to make smart decisions on the field, especially when it comes to dribbling.
“You can imagine Chukwueze coming to defence to help, he gets the ball, what does he do, not dribble,” Eguavoen told NFF TV.
