Speaking in slurred speech, Anas Al-Aqra, a Palestinian captive from Qabalan, south of Nablus, struggles to communicate after losing his hearing and speech due to torture inside Israeli detention camps. Arrested in 2016 at the age of 19, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined 15,000 shekels for allegedly causing minor injuries to an illegal Israeli settler during an incident in Jerusalem. On January 25, 2025, he was released as part of the prisoner exchange deal known as "The Flood of the Free." Upon his arrival in his hometown, he was greeted with immense warmth and a celebratory reception by local residents. Shortly after his release, Israeli occupation forces stormed Anas Al-Aqra's home in Qabalan, attempting to suppress the celebrations by firing stun grenades and tear gas, which led to several citizens suffering from gas inhalation.
